Society&Co believes everybody deserves an equal opportunity to live, learn and flourish - regardless of who they are, where they're from or how much money they have. In order to continue creating opportunity for future generations the global population needs to adapt a more sustainable way of living. The current approach is taking a serious toll on the environment. Sustainability isn’t an option - it's a must.
One way they are bringing this vision to life is through the Society&Co Indigenous Scholarship Fund, which uses social business ventures to help provide an equal opportunity for Indigenous Australian students. They do this by selling ethical apparel and giving 100% of their profits to the Indigenous Scholarship Fund.
One of their success stories is with Alyssa who is 11 years old, and is one of six children being raised by a single mum. Her favourite subjects at school are English and Maths, in which she shows great promise. The Scholarship has provided the foundations for Alyssa’s education: her uniform, schoolbooks, stationery and school excursions. As the Scholarship is self-sustaining, Alyssa will continue to be supported for the remainder of primary school and all the way through high school.
